After so many drive-in waitresses becoming movie stars, there has been this real drought, when along came class; somebody who actually went to school, can spell, maybe even plays the piano. She may be a wispy, thin little thing, but when you see that girl, you know you’re really in the presence of something. In that league there’s only ever been Garbo, and the other Hepburn, and maybe Bergman . It’s a rare quality, but boy, do you know when you’ve found it.

Odri Hepbern je bila jedinstvena, krhka, draga, šarmantna, prelepa i inspirativna. Bila je izuzetak u holivudskom poor unfortunate souls svetu. Nije imala tragičnu sudbinu kao Vivijen Li, nije bila neshvaćena kao Merilin Monro, nije bila lepotica poput Rite Hejvort, nije bila glamurozna poput Elizabet Tejlor niti se trudila da bude tough kao Ketrin Hepburn. Od trenutka kako smo je videli u Roman Holiday njen lik je ostao u našim romantičnim srcima, bila je nežna i prirodna, tiha i ispunjena životnom radošću.
Pored svih ovih idolatarija koje napisah, nikako da se upustim u pisanije o Odri. Imam neki čudan osećaj da je suvišno bilo šta pisati o njoj, da je previše toga i napisano o njoj kao modnoj ikoni, glumici zlatnog doba Holivuda i njenom radu za UNICEF, a opet kao da sve te pohvale nisu ni toliko potrebne koliko je samo lepo gledati neki od njenih filmova, biti zamišljen nad njenim likom i inspirisan njenom ženstvenošću i unutrašnjom lepotom. Odri je jedna od onih ljudi zbog kojih je svet izgledao divniji i nema nikoga u njenoj ligi, ni ranije, ni sada.
